The San Diego Health practice of Milliman seeks a candidate for a data analysis internship. The successful candidate will clean and analyze data relating to health and pharmacy benefits.
The successful candidate may implement software solutions, apply statistical techniques, and/or develop actuarial models. This position provides an excellent entrance into the healthcare benefits consulting, actuarial consulting, and data analytics fields.
Job description:
- Clean and analyze data relating to health and pharmacy benefits.
- Develop highly sought-after technical skills with products such as Microsoft Excel and T-SQL.
- Research related to health and pharmacy benefits.
- Work closely with consultants, actuaries and/or analysts on special projects and day to day tasks.
Requirements:
- Must be a pursuing a degree in STEM.
- Must have experience with R and/or Python.
- Must have taken Introduction to Computer Science.
- Must have taken one semester of calculus-based physics.
Preferred:
- Completed or actively pursuing a bachelor's degree.
- GPA 3.5 or above
- Proficient in MS Excel; R or Python programming knowledge a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
This position is based out of the Milliman office in San Diego, CA. Candidates hired into this role must be willing to work onsite full-time.
The salary range for this role is $19 to $33, depending on a combination of factors, including, but not limited to, education, relevant work experience, qualifications, skills, certifications, location, etc.
