NOTE:

This is a Part-Time position and is eligible to be fully remote or hybrid but must live in Oregon or Washington. Part-time positions may need to report to our Portland, Oregon Headquarters quarterly and or as needed. This position will work 20 to a maximum of 30 hours a week and is not eligible for medical benefits. Part-time positions are 401K, paid time off and employee assistance eligible.

The Role:

This role is responsible for providing a sophisticated level of legal project and administrative support for the SVP/GC and the legal department. This position is key to assisting the legal team with various legal projects and in providing legal services to the company, including the preparation and tracking of legal budgets, and document and evidence management. The role requires analytical, problem-solving and information organization skills. It is a critical role for the team, contributing to team and providing operational support as needed.

Day to Day:

  • Coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments to request information, and/or provide updates on initiatives and projects.
  • Assist in ensuring project and legal deliverables are successfully completed on time.
  • Effectively interact with legal team, and work with staff at all levels across the organization
  • Budget coordination and tracking for multiple cost centers within the legal budget and assisting the legal team lawyers with their budget management.
  • This is done on an annual basis with monthly monitoring for variance and forecast reporting. Knowledgeable about each budget to answer finance, accounting and GC questions. Ensure monthly and forecasting is accurate.
  • Monthly coordination with attorneys on their cases, projects and related budgets to track and assist the GC in managing the rollup to the Company's legal budget.
  • Organize, analyze, and summarize documents, evidence preparation, and Board, matter-specific and other report preparation as needed GC or Legal Department lawyers
  • Attention to detail to proofread and edit documents in appropriate legal / Company style.
  • Produce standardized regular and periodic reports in excel, word, powerpoint, visio or other applications as needed, including Board reports.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in using a PC to generate and the suite of Microsoft products (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project or similar application, Visio) to coordinate a wide variety of reports and documents.
  • Experience with SharePoint to maintain and assist team in maintaining Department records.

Preferred Skills:

  • Proficient or experienced in using accounting software, specifically SAP.
  • Accountable for tracking and meeting deadlines, prioritizing work and producing consistently accurate work product.
  • Be a team player in helping to accomplish tasks at hand and supports Company's commitment to a culture of safe work practices.
Come on your first day with:

  • Bachelor's or Associate's Degree or a paralegal or similar certification.
  • Minimum of three years of demonstrated experience as a Paralegal or Legal Specialist. Five or more years of experience for a level 2.
  • Proven ability to manage confidential information from various sources, including tracking, tabulating, and organizing information into standard and/or non-standard reports.
  • Some knowledge of basic legal processes, such as conducting preliminary fact investigation, legal research or case summaries; assisting with witness or document preparation and organization, basic legal document preparation
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to articulate issues and concerns.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with little oversight
  • Proven ability working in a strong team-oriented environment responding to and managing competing deadlines in support of multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent internal customer service orientation with a collaborative problem-solving approach; ability to work with staff at all levels of organization.

Base salary range: $64,850.00 - $89,000.00 (Level 1) or $77,050.00 - $105,750.00 (Level 2) depending on qualifications
