Job Summary:

An Instructor position is available starting immediately in the Kennedy lab at the University of Colorado Medical School in Aurora, CO. Candidates with a PhD in biomedical research disciplines and strong (at least 4 years) research experience in one or more of the following areas will be considered: cell culture, molecular cloning, protein biochemistry, microscopy, primary neuronal culture, mouse colony management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop research protocols
  • Collaboration with PI, students, post-docs
  • Preparation of primary tissues, cell cultures
  • Training and supervision of laboratory personnel in experimentation techniques
  • Microscopic analysis
  • Animal care related to research procedures
  • Work with adeno associated and lentiviruses
  • Perform recombinant DNA and protein work
  • Prepare samples for analysis by various instrumentation
  • Perform experiments
  • Tabulate research data
  • Record results of experiments
  • Prepare research presentations
  • Develop and maintain research databases

Work Location:

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Minimum requirements for this position include a PhD and prior experience in a laboratory (preferably 4+ years), using a wide range of molecular and cellular biology techniques. The applicant should be motivated, reliable and willing to learn new techniques.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Experience in Cell culture

- Experience in Protein biochemistry

- Experience in Confocal and super resolution light microscopy

- Experience in Primary neuronal culture

- Experience in Grant writing

- Experience in Manuscript preparation

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$55,000 to $100,000

The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
