Job Description

The Director of Marketing Program Management Office (PMO) is responsible for establishing and scaling a marketing PMO at Workiva. This individual will lead the maturation of marketing processes, creating and delivering against a clear and defined portfolio of work that supports Workiva objectives. We're looking for a passionate individual with proven experience leading change in scaling global marketing organizations.

What You'll Do

  • PMO strategy: Lead the strategic direction of the Marketing PMO group, aligning structure, standards, processes, and best practices to ensure the team is optimized to deliver against objectives. Lead program and project management teams in both a direct and dotted-line structure, supporting the professional growth and development of the teams

  • Performance management: Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for program management, regularly reporting on progress to executive leadership. As a part of the strategic direction, govern marketing budget and resource allocation and efficiency, and lead and develop a team of project and program managers

  • Change leadership: Lead organizational change management initiatives, aligning with marketing leadership to support, champion, and sponsor in alignment with desired business outcomes-and communicate impact effectively on behalf of all levels, from individual contributors to the highest leadership levels

  • Unified program leadership: Implement frameworks to ensure successful prioritization of programs based on corporate strategy. Provide strategic direction for the execution of campaigns and programs to ensure on-time, in-scope, and in-budget completion

  • Accelerate agile adoption: Champion the maturity of agile methodologies across the marketing organization, and create and deliver capability development training in line with team or pod needs

  • Resource management: Align the correct resources to projects. Work with Marketing leadership, People Business Partners, and marketing teams to identify skill gaps and requirements, and ensure proper staffing for successful execution. Ensure transparency of capacity and availability data to resource load and prevent burnout

  • Risk mitigation: Identify potential risks and challenges to delivery, implementing risk management strategies to proactively mitigate issues and minimize disruptions

  • Marketing experience: develop a comprehensive plan for marketing experience management including onboarding processes, including documentation, norms, feedback loops and survey results

What You'll Need

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10+ years experience of progressive responsibility in marketing PMO or related functions

  • Experience creating and scaling a marketing PMO

  • Enterprise-level marketing organization experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years direct people management

  • Global experience in regions including EMEA, APAC, and LATAM

  • Experience leading a marketing PMO at a B2B SaaS platform company that has scaled from $500M - $1B+ ARR

  • Experience with Monday.com, Smartsheet, Confluence, and L&D software

  • Expert level program management and change leadership skills, with proven ability to balance collaboration with results

  • Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams across geographies and functional units

  • Extensive experience with SAFe, 6Sigma, Scrum, and other key frameworks, but not a purist to any one structure

  • Proven self-starter with low ego, high humility, high EQ and a demonstrated ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization

  • Catalyst and champion for diversity, equity, and inclusion

  • Ability to inspire, motivate and drive teams while also providing recognition and encouragement

Travel Requirements & Working Conditions

  • Minimal travel, less than 20%

  • Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely and not in a Workiva office

How You'll Be Rewarded

Salary range in the US: $147,000.00 - $250,000.00

A discretionary bonus typically paid annually

Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire

401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package

The salary range represents the low and high end of the salary range for this job in the US. Minimums and maximums may vary based on location. The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience and other relevant factors.
