- THE POSITION
Are you a hardworking problem-solver with plumbing knowledge? The Department of General Services (DGS) is currently seeking a Plumber 1 for our Energy Resource Management Office. This position gives you the opportunity to perform maintenance, inspections, repairs, replacement, and installation work on plumbing and piping systems, components, and fixtures within DGS owned or managed facilities. - DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Plumber 1, you will perform a variety skilled plumbing duties independently and as a team with other trades persons or supervisors. You will utilize the tools of your trade for maintenance, repair, and installation of water and sewer lines, as well as kitchen, bathroom, and laundry fixtures within commonwealth owned facilities in the Harrisburg region. You will have the opportunity to read and interpret blueprints, collaborate with your team on complex assignments, and assist in repairing steam distribution and condensate systems and equipment.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

- Note: This position is considered essential. You will be required to report to work during emergencies and office closings.
- REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Three years of experience in the installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing components and fixtures; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.
Special Requirements:
- This position requires possession of a valid Class C Driver's License, which is not under suspension.
Additional Requirements:
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Preferred Qualifications (not required):
- Willing and able to work in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania
- Experience reading and interpreting blueprints
- Experience replacing/repairing water mains
