Job Description

This position will focus on the maintenance, troubleshooting and installation of custom automated equipment.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Maintain, troubleshoot and install automated equipment which enables the manufacturing of unique composite products.
  • Under the direction of the global engineering group, assist in modification and upgrades to equipment to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
  • Drive continuous improvements in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Ability to identify, maintain and troubleshoot AB RS LOGIX 5000 's and components
  • Ability to identify, maintain, and troubleshoot components
  • Ability to identify, maintain, and troubleshoot power transmission systems including motor starters, Variable Frequency Drives, DC drives, and standard components.
  • Hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems
  • Reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to interpret drawings both mechanical and electrical
  • Ability to identify, maintain, and utilize SCADA systems and KPI's
  • Ability to train others with lesser skills
  • Ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures and relate them to others

This role includes coordination of related activities of a cross-functional team that includes both internal and external resources involved in the:

  1. Maintenance and troubleshooting of existing equipment
  2. Implementing modifications and upgrades to existing equipment
  3. Installing and commissioning of new equipment

The job requires an individual with an excellent understanding of automated control systems such as PLC and PC based motion controllers, SCADA human/machine interfaces, electro-mechanical systems, industry standard machine code.

In this capacity the Electronics and Controls Technician shall:

  • Support the Company's production equipment.
  • Be responsible for installation of equipment including control hardware and software, equipment requirements and specifications.
  • Assist in the integration of safety controls as appropriate in all manufacturing equipment.
  • Be accountable for equipment compliance to electrical, safety, industrial and government regulatory standards.
  • Support equipment development related capital projects as assigned.
  • Support production with troubleshooting and repairs in the area of expertise.


Day
1st Shift

Knowledge:

  • 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in motion controls and automation.
  • Extensive knowledge of electrical, motion control and software systems.
  • Strong background in computer programming and software development

Skills:

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft software (MSWord, PowerPoint, Excel, Project) to enable the creation of work instruction and other maintenance documentation.
  • PLC Programming (preferably Rockwell controls)
  • Troubleshooting and testing experience
  • Ability to create, understand and interpret engineering drawings
