This position will focus on the maintenance, troubleshooting and installation of custom automated equipment.
Position responsibilities include:
- Maintain, troubleshoot and install automated equipment which enables the manufacturing of unique composite products.
- Under the direction of the global engineering group, assist in modification and upgrades to equipment to ensure conformance with engineering design and performance specifications.
- Drive continuous improvements in the areas of safety, quality, delivery and cost.
- Ability to identify, maintain and troubleshoot AB RS LOGIX 5000 's and components
- Ability to identify, maintain, and troubleshoot components
- Ability to identify, maintain, and troubleshoot power transmission systems including motor starters, Variable Frequency Drives, DC drives, and standard components.
- Hands-on experience and troubleshooting, including 480V 3-phase, 110 VAC, and 24VDC systems
- Reasoning, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret drawings both mechanical and electrical
- Ability to identify, maintain, and utilize SCADA systems and KPI's
- Ability to train others with lesser skills
- Ability to interpret and understand policies and procedures and relate them to others
This role includes coordination of related activities of a cross-functional team that includes both internal and external resources involved in the:
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of existing equipment
- Implementing modifications and upgrades to existing equipment
- Installing and commissioning of new equipment
The job requires an individual with an excellent understanding of automated control systems such as PLC and PC based motion controllers, SCADA human/machine interfaces, electro-mechanical systems, industry standard machine code.
In this capacity the Electronics and Controls Technician shall:
- Support the Company's production equipment.
- Be responsible for installation of equipment including control hardware and software, equipment requirements and specifications.
- Assist in the integration of safety controls as appropriate in all manufacturing equipment.
- Be accountable for equipment compliance to electrical, safety, industrial and government regulatory standards.
- Support equipment development related capital projects as assigned.
- Support production with troubleshooting and repairs in the area of expertise.
