Position Summary

The VP Director Investments is a high-level client team specialist, requiring a strong leader with proven experience managing teams, juggling multiple high-level projects at one time, researching, and justifying partner selection, and developing and negotiating multi-faceted media and marketing partnerships. In this role you must think strategically and work collaboratively with other disciplines across the agency to create recommendations that deliver on client strategic goals and business objectives. The VP Director Investments is a team leader who manages their client leads and works with the investment leaders to train and provide reviews for their direct reports.

Responsibilities

Portfolio and Growth

  • Provide positive leadership and contribution to New Business Pitches (presenting, decks, ideation, RFPs).
  • Partner with Business Leadership to ensure awareness of and utilization of MAGNA partnerships to support achievement of revenue stream goals.
  • Partner with MAGNA to lead strategic marketplace strategy, cost projections and identify key partners.

Position and PR

  • Bring forward new ideas and opportunities to drive innovation and growth for clients.
  • Develop insights and work with media partners, Mediahub channel partners and Business.
  • Leadership to create, evaluate and negotiate cross-platform brand extensions (beyond traditional buys).
  • Develop integrated, cross-channel POV and seeks ways to extract value for clients beyond paid media.
  • Serve as a media landscape expert (with a focus on video, digital, audio as applicable) internally and with clients, including creating and distributing POVs, supporting client presentations and coaching junior teams on emerging products.
  • Provide excellent media marketplace, partnership and landscape guidance.
  • Partner with Business Leadership on case study development.
  • Represent the agency/clients on industry panels, where appropriate.

Product and Work

  • Strengthen and expand client relationships via thought leadership, responsiveness, innovation, and fulfillment of business/media goals, including cost value.
  • Actively present recommendations and support Business Leadership in response to client challenges.
  • Lead communications with client on marketplace, negotiation strategies and thought leadership across media channels and landscape.
    • Support Business Leadership for client recommendations, plan recaps, QBRs, etc.
  • Oversee partnership plan development, recommendation, and implementation, incorporating necessary and appropriate rationale and research for client buy-in.
  • Responsible for ensuring the Partnerships team has clear strategy, budget, and objectives at all times media partnership targets.
  • Work in tandem with the analytics team to understand how to determine best KPI for client objectives and metrics to evaluate for best KPI return.
    • Responsible for campaign optimization recommendations (works closely with campaign insights) to drive constant and regular improvement.
    • Schedule internal review with Planning & Business Leadership team well in advance to review key partners/ideas.
  • Provide pro-active guidance on client investments - new media opportunities, sponsorships, partnerships, data driven ideas.
  • Strong relationship builder and problem solver who provides strategic oversight to holistic media plans, innovative ideas, and marketplace solutions tailored to client's needs.
  • Help develop insights into brand extensions through evaluations and recommendations of cross-platform concepts, high degree of partnership across various teams.
  • Negotiate media partners to ensure fulfillment of rate, measurement, creative and other factors.
    • Accountable for facilitating alignment with Kinesso and Business Leadership on buying approach (direct/prog/integrated) and point of contact to lead buys.
    • Oversee team and ensure accuracy of buy set up and order, stewardship, optimizations, and reporting.
    • Oversees cost exercises.

Required Skills & Experience
  • 7-10 years of related industry experience (with a specialty in digital, video, and/or audio).
  • Excellent leadership skills with ability to lead team to deliver high-quality results.
  • Passionate about innovation and the creative process, desire to find creative ways say "yes" to ideas and to contribute your own.
  • Passionate about advertising and the ability to spread that passion to others.
  • Management and supervisory experience required.
  • Well versed in all aspects of media (with a focus on digital, video, and/or audio as applicable) and landscape trends.
  • Superior client service experience with proven ability to provide strategic media plans.
  • Ability to anticipate and quickly assess continually changing client needs and adapt resources and strategies accordingly.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to translate data into viable business solutions to enhance strategies and meet deliverables.

The salary range for this position is posted below. Where an employee or prospective employee is paid within this range will depend on, among other factors, actual ranges for current/former employees in the subject position, market considerations, budgetary considerations, tenure and standing with the Company (applicable to current employees), as well as the employee's/applicant's skill set, level of experience, and qualifications.
