Senior Vice President, Business Development

We're seeking a future team member for the role of Senior Vice President, Business Development to join our BNY Pershing Wealth Solutions RIA Sales team. This role is located in San Francisco, CA - Hybrid.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:

  • Engaging with financial advisors in a consultative sales process that identifies the needs, review's organizational structure, entity formation, business economics and appropriate technology solutions.
  • Leading the entire sales process, including facilitating and coordinating related onboarding documentation, transition resource team, and asset realization.
  • Creating and executing business development strategies that generate leads, as well as maintain and expand referral sources.
  • Establishing relationships with prospective advisors, providing consultation and education regarding independence.

To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:

  • Must have substantial knowledge and experience in the RIA industry, including competitors' offerings, service structure, and business development approach.
  • Proven experience and ability to prospect new custody opportunities, including advisors turning independent from the wire house, independent broker dealer or trust company channels as well as fee-based independent investment advisors.
  • Highly motivated team player that is organized, able to manage complex sales situations and execute annual production goals.
  • 7-10 years of sales experience preferred focused on B2B sales/consulting experience in the Financial Services industry is required.
  • Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
  • Series 7 and 63, or ability to obtain within 6 months.

BNY Mellon assesses market data to ensure a competitive compensation package for our employees. The base salary for this position is expected to be between $113,000 and $221,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis, including as to experience and market location, and is only part of the BNYM total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, change in geographic location, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
