What You'll Do:

The Power System Protection Engineer will support Army OEI by providing insight into protection equipment of an electrical power generation and power distribution system and equipment to minimize interruption to service and danger to lives and equipment from abnormalities, such as overload, no load, black-start and short circuits. The engineer will study drawings of power system and makes calculations to determine type, number, location and correlation of protectors, such as relays, circuit breakers, fuses and grounding devices. The engineer will perform quality assurance design reviews for all protection and control documents and will assist in providing recommendations on how to make electrical system more resilient, including assessment of black start exercises and tabletop exercise.

What You'll Bring:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering from an ABET accredited university or any engineering degree from an ABET accredited university along with demonstrated engineering experience in power, energy or water fields.
• Must have at least 10 years experience in the following:
  1. Protection relaying scheme (e.g., bus protection, transmission line protection, transformer protection), design and engineering.
  2. Engineering tasks, such as load flow and short circuit studies.
  3. Managing large-scale construction projects or experience in project management.
• Strong interpersonal skills to provide leadership to collaborate and work with diverse teams. Strong communication skills to provide clearly and succinctly recurring and ad hoc project updates and synthesizing information for key decision briefs.
• DoD Secret clearance is required.
• Army experience strongly preferred.
• Possess a Professional Engineering license preferred.

Compensation

Expected Salary: $175,000 - $185,000
