GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
This role is responsible to supervisor the Import staff and aid with the accurate and timely movement of KII's Imported shipments, FCL, LCL, and air, from origin to destination in compliance with company procedures and government agencies as required. This position directly reports to the Import Manager and/or Associate Import Manager.

Requirements:

Bachelor's degree is required

Professional Certification is a plus
Minimum 3-5 years experience in international ocean & air freight coordination or similar role.

Supervisory experience or ability for leadership is preferred.

Proficient in performance management including coaching, fostering teamwork, and giving constructive feedback.

Proficient in project management.

Must have excellent customer service skills, responding promptly and professionally to internal/external customer needs and requests for service and assistance.

Must be detail oriented with good organizational skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and SAP is preferred.

Ability to meet ITAR compliant working conditions.
Ability to speak verbally in English.
Ability to lift 1-10 lbs. frequently, and 11-25 lbs. rarely.

Employee must have or achieve through on-the-job training:

* Understanding of US Customs regulations

* Incoterms

* US Department of Commerce and US Department of State rules and regulations.

* Other government agency requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Plans, directs, and controls import activities on a day-to-day basis.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with internal and external customers by resolving concerns, interacting with customer service, warehouse operations, and sales personnel to resolve any conflicts on a timely basis.
  • Ensures import documentation record retention is being followed per documented procedures.
  • Supervises import staff obtaining and processing of customs release and other government agency releases as appropriate, arranging delivery, and invoicing the shipments as required.
  • Coordinates with Import/Export Compliance team and for all matters pertaining to Import/Export Compliance and compliance training.
  • Supervises the coordination of the release of goods from the carrier, customs or other governmental agency examinations that may be required. If any issues arise this position will escalate to KII Import Manager and I/E Compliance for resolution.
  • Assigns and monitors KPI's as determined by the Import Manager.
  • Supports the Import Manager with automation projects.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SALARY: Based on factors including qualifications and experience $ 65,000 - $ 100,000 Annually
