    JOB SUMMARY:

    To crew lead is to effectively coordinate their workloads, providing support to ensure that the team delivers, monitoring any issues, and ensuring product is developed successfully, and quality standards are met to meet the requirements of the customer.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Implement proper procedures for the processing department.
    • Add/Create processing department schedules to ensure that all processing is performed and completed in a timely fashion.
    • Perform all supervisory functions during the absence of a supervisor.
    • Participate as a witness in the disciplinary process.
    • Analyze situations to provide solutions that are in the best interest of the company.
    • Maintain accurate records and reports.
    • Monitor processing department employees' progress on assigned tasks.
    • Make decisions pertaining to production errors and deviations.
    • Maintain accurate inventory of rework, raw material inventory and metal detection report.
    • Participate in monthly inventory process.
    • Maintain a safe work environment by watching out for foot traffic: following standards and procedures: complying with legal regulations per all forklift operations.
    • Utilize manual batching procedure to correctly document product flow and correct mistakes when necessary.
    • Evaluate daily overhead to ensure that we have the accurate staffing to run all lines.
    • Assign and provide direction on the daily tasks to other processing department employees.
    • Ensure that employees are abiding by all Carl Buddig and Company policies via the Employee Handbook and Safety Manual.
    • Train new and existing employees in the required job duties.
    • Assist with conducting training for safety and quality.
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Processing Manager and/or Supervisor.
    • Maintain work area in a clean and sanitary manner.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Work Environment:

    • Attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
    • Work in cold environment of 40 degrees or less.
    • Must be able to lift, slide, push, pull, grab, turn, reach, bend, stand, and walk.

    • Report all food safety related problems to the quality assurance department to initiate immediate action.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    The ideal candidate must possess the following skills and qualifications:

    • Capable of communicating both orally and in writing with people at all organizational levels.
    • Capable of managing a variety of tasks simultaneously with rapidly changing priorities.
    • Demonstrated ability to work productively and effectively as part of a team.
    • Must be able to read and write in English.
    • Possess a sense of urgency and attention to accuracy and detail.
    • Ability to legally work in the United States is required.
    • High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.

    Core Competencies:

    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of all Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc...).
    • Must be able to perform most of the work on a computer.
    • Must be able to work 40 or more hours per week including weekends.
    • Must be highly attentive to detail (i.e. film/date/ accurate counts).
    • Must be able to multitask and prioritize assignments.
    • Must have good organizational skills.
    • Maintain a good rapport with all Carl Buddig and Company co-workers.
    • Comply with all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Carl Buddig and Company employee handbook.
    • Report all food safety related problems to your supervisor, manager, or to the quality assurance department to initiate immediate action.
    • Additional tasks as assigned.
