The Material Movement Specialist position in Lawrence is on 1st Shift (7:30am - 3:30pm). The Materials Movement Specialist reports through the Warehouse Department in the Lawrence Production Center. Individuals in this department transport stock and recycled material to and from the warehouse to the production areas.
The Materials Movement Specialist in Lawrence transports stock between production departments and warehouse or between shipping and receiving docks. Loads and unloads incoming and outgoing trucks. Locates stock in the warehouse and fills orders for manufacturing using a variety of powered equipment. Responsible for loading and unloading skids onto the vertical lift and using the elevator as necessary. Responsible for sorting paper or other materials into proper recycling categories to ensure maximum revenue generation. Acts as a technical resource to support departments on paper grading. Operates paper, chip and poly balers to compress recyclable materials into bales. Responsible for all documentation related to stock movement. Transports hazardous waste material in accordance with Federal, State, and Local regulations. Positively participates in performance dialogues and other team problem-solving activities. Identifies potential problems, and shows willingness to proactively work on problem resolution and alternative solutions to traditional methods of operation. Flexibility is key as the incumbent will be expected to move to different work assignments as needed. Incumbent will be expected to learn and perform multiple assignments within this job classification.
