Job Title: Digital Associate (Design)
Reports to: Deputy Digital Director, Mobilization
Salary: $5,000/month or $60,000 annualized, generous benefits package
Location: Madison or Milwaukee, WI (Please note: Employment with the Democratic Party of Wisconsin requires residence or willingness to relocate to the state of Wisconsin.)
Start date: Summer 2024

The Opportunity: As a Digital Associate (Design), you will drive day-to-day flow of the Digital team's content design process. Working under the direction of the Deputy Digital Director, Mobilization, you'll take first draft at designing assets for our campaign social media channels, partner assets, and influencer engagements. Your creativity, sense of visual hierarchy, and understanding of design language will shape the way that our campaign communicates with voters across the state of Wisconsin.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Take the first draft of designing visual and video assets for the Coordinated Campaign's social media channels, distributed content channels, and other mediums as needed.
  • Leverage campaign branding to ensure consistency across channels and mediums for all aspects of the campaign's digital presence.
  • Work with the Deputy Digital Directors and the entire digital team to deliver content in accordance with our content calendar.
  • Attend in-person events to collect video and photo content.
  • On-year requirements include working outside of normal work hours; including canvassing and other election-preparation as necessary.


Qualifications (Required):

  • Design Experience - Has experience working in design programs, such as the Adobe Creative Suite or Canva.
  • Strong communication skills - Can effectively articulate design concepts and collaborate with cross-functional teams. Knows how to work with non-designers to bring their vision to life.


Qualifications (Preferred):

  • Interested in campaigns.
  • Design knowledge - Strong understanding of layout, typography, color theory, and other design principles.
  • Work product - Experience designing visual or video content for mass consumption.
  • Fiercely Collaborative - Eager to work across departments to accomplish campaign goals. Continuously seeks opportunities to learn and develop their skills as a designer and a digital strategist.
  • Excellent organization skills - Can track a high volume of tasks at different stages of development without losing sight of the bigger picture.
  • Experience producing content for or organizing within communities of diverse backgrounds.
