Job Description

EHS Specialist - Las Vegas, NV - Monday - Friday - 8:00AM-5:00PM

Responsible for administering, developing and coordinating programs designed to protect employees and
the environment from harmful accidents. Responsibilities also include assuring compliance with all
federal, state and local regulations pertaining to employee health and safety


  • * Manage day-to-day EHS programs
    * Develop and implement EHS policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and
    federal regulations
    * Conduct regular audits and inspections at main laboratory and field locations (ex. Patient
    Service Centers, Logistics hubs) to identify potential hazards and safety risks, identify root
    cause(s), implement corrective action(s)
    * Provide guidance and support to management and employees on EHS issues and best
    practices
    * Develop and deliver training programs to promote EHS awareness and compliance
    * Stay informed of changes in EHS regulations and ensure the company remains in compliance
    * Conduct incident investigations, perform RCA and develop preventive measures based on root
    cause(s) to avoid future incidents
    * Maintain accurate records and reports of EHS activities and incidents
    * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement EHS improvement initiatives
    * Oversee the implementation of emergency response plans and procedures
    * Communicate and collaborate with external agencies and authorities on EHS matters
    * Foster a culture of safety and continuous improvement in EHS practices within the organization
    * Act as a liaison between the company and regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.
    Perform thorough investigation of compliance issues, use RCA to identify root cause(s),
    implement effective corrective actions. Complete all compliance actions timely and prepare
    associated documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required WorkExperience:

3+ years of related experiencein the Environmental, Health and Safety field

Experience managing EHS programs in compliance with 40 CFR, 49 CFR, 29 CFR, CCR Title
22

Ability to prioritize numerous tasks and deadlines
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.
Proficient computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.) and ability to learn new
software (Smartsheet, Projects, Visio)
Accountable, self-driven, and ability to learn & continuously improve established programs.
Organized, attention to detail, dependable, and team player
Ability to perform all other EH&S related duties as assigned

Preferred Work Experience:

3-5 years work experience in the EH&S field
Preferred Technical Training or Professional Licensing

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology, Commercial ClinicalLaboratoryOperations,and defensive driving skills and techniques.
  • Familiaritywith OSHA,EPAand DOT federal and state regulations.
