Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Environmental Services Manager contributes to the efficient operation of the facility by planning, organizing, developing and managing the overall operation of the Environmental Services (Housekeeping, Custodial and Laundry) Departments in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations governing the TNRC living communities. This TEAMember is responsible for training, managing, and evaluating TEAMembers. This TEAMember strives to uphold Tabitha's LIVE2Care Culture and actively embraces Tabitha's Core Values. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Develops and implements an annual budget, monitoring expenses and income to stay within budget.
  2. Establishes department(s) policies and procedures and ensures implementation and/or revision of existing policies and procedures.
  3. Establishes and implements standards, work procedures and productivity for TEAMembers and departments.
  4. Ensures maintenance of sanitation and safety standards in accordance with facility infection control specialist, local, state and federal regulations.
  5. Develops and implements work schedules and methods to be most efficient and cost effective for the departments.
  6. Develops and implements an orientation and training program for TEAMembers. This may include providing training for additional Tabitha living communities.
  7. Performs weekly inventory of department supplies, inspects storage areas, orders supplies accordingly and stocks incoming supplies to ensure adequate items are on hand at all times.
  8. Must be available at all times for departmental emergencies and responsible to respond to after-hours calls as needed.
  9. Supervises all day, weekend and evening shift department TEAMembers in Environmental Services Departments. Provides weekend and evening room changeover direction, audits each changeover and coordinates with DME for any equipment needs.
  10. Performs job duties of housekeeping, custodial and laundry TEAMembers when needed.
  11. Communicates expectations, holds employees accountable, and manages consistently. Contributes to the success of Tabitha employees by coaching, developing, encouraging, nurturing, mentoring, challenging, and setting an example for direct reports. This will include working with TEAMembers on correcting performance deficiencies, policy violations, or any other area of concern.
  12. Assists with recruitment by interviewing job applicants, making hiring decisions and takes steps to control preventable staff turnover related to supervisory responsibilities.
  13. Willingly takes on additional duties and/or assignments, assisting with projects and responding to requests as assigned or as necessary.
Qualifications

AGE REQUIREMENT: At least age 18.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional education in field preferred.

EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years of general supervisory or managerial experience with two (2) years' experience in the housekeeping field (preferably in health care) preferred.

CREDENTIALS: Must meet Tabitha's vaccination requirements.
