Overview:

Terex Utilities is a truck equipment final stage manufacturer of digger derricks, aerial devices and associated equipment for the utility industry, municipals, telecommunications, tree and electrical contractor markets.

Directs, plans, establishes, and implements a variety of health, safety, environment, loss prevention programs to assure the highest possible degree of safety for employees, plant facilities and equipment. Assures that Terex complies with applicable federal and state health, safety and environment laws, regulations and standards.

Position Description:

The HSE Professional has the primary responsibility for coaching, leading and influencing the operations team on HSE principles, practices and safety culture. The position will be responsible for leading the efforts around injury prevention, implementation of the HSE operating plan, roadmap implementation, and compliance with local, federal, and Terex HSE standards. The position will support all other aspects of the operation to ensure HSE standards and expectations are met and to help support the overall success of the operations.

Basic Qualifications
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years relevant professional experience working in the field of Health, Safety, Fire Safety and/or Environmental including experience working as a safety professional in manufacturing operations, or an associate degree in health, Safety, Environmental/ related field.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts in Health, Safety, Environmental or related field
  • 5+ years relevant professional experience working in the field of Health, Safety, Fire Safety and/or Environmental including experience working as a safety professional in manufacturing operations

Responsibilities

  • Provide HSE technical expertise on manufacturing systems, process design and operating procedures.
  • Assess and identify the workplace for the presence of health, safety and environmental concerns and make recommendations to control or eliminate those concerns.
  • Establish operational goalsto drive HSE improvements
  • Perform analysis of workplace HSE trends to measure and monitor performance metrics plus ensure accuracy of injury (OSHA) reporting and Terex HSE scorecards
  • Evaluate the operations, equipment and practices for HSE regulatory compliance and with company standards
  • Conduct and coordinate HSE training including the development of specific training for the workplace concerns based on assessment of site operations and incident trends
  • Guide operational team members to focus on long term sustainable HSE improvements
  • Communicate HSE information and provide expertise to operations, government representatives on issues concerning health, environmental performance or workplace safety

The salary range for this position is $58,500 to $78,000 annually.
