About the role:

CLA is looking to hire a Staff Accountant for our Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) practice who will sit in our Cedar Rapids, IA office. Our Client Accounting and Advisory Services (CAAS) practice helps our clients transform their business with a collaborative approach that allows them to seamlessly mitigate risk, overcome challenges, meet deadlines, and identify personnel to help them with their workforce needs.

As a Staff Accountant, you will:

  • Work with multiple clients, software, and chart of accounts on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.
  • Coordinate and process accounts payable, cash disbursements, accounts receivable, cash receipts.
  • Coordinate and complete account reconciliations (i.e. bank & credit card, prepaids, accruals, fixed assets, accounts payable, accounts receivable).
  • Complete sales tax returns, Form 1099s, and other forms as requested by clients.
  • Process transactions and prepare financial statements.

What you will need:

  • Accounting and financial experience is preferred. Nonprofit accounting experience preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree is required. Combination of related experience, education, and training may be accepted in lieu of degree.
  • CPA certification preferred but not required.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks preferred.
  • Prior project management and client management experience preferred but not required.
